Know A Lot More About Novation 25 SL MKII 25 Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller
The 25SL Mk II defends Novation's trusted name designing superior equipment (like the 25SL Mk I, they'll probably even interest performing artists who require a well-constructed keyboard on stage). High quality is not only mirrored in their robustness, though more to the point in the manner the 25SL Mk II has been produced with each attribute measured to improve workflow. The 25SL Mk II's visually feeds back all controller info to the user with back lit buttons and encoder LED rings.
The Novation 25 SL Mk II MIDI Keyboard Controller offers 25 great-feeling, semi-weighted keys for expressively playing in musical pieces. Apart from that, though, the Novation 25 SL Mk II offers a full 16-knob, 8-fader, 32-button control surface area, so you can take charge of your request, help make tweaks to plugins, and finally quicken your workflow. You may especially enjoy the Novation 25 SL Mk II's touch-sensitive "soft-feel" drum pads - suitable for sketching beats or causing samples - and its creative 2-axis Xpression Pad and Pitch/mod Joystick controls.
The 25SL Mk II MIDI Keyboard Controller features a large 144-character ultra-bright LCD display that presents all of the parameter names and values for the presently identified row of controllers. All 8 faders and 16 knobs are touch reactive, therefore the second a particular is touched, the screen exhibits the names and values on that row and sets brackets around the controller which is at present being approached. This gives the operator to find out which parameter is intended to the controller without a need to modify the value or refer to their software. The 25SL Mk II also offers a specialized 'Speed Dial ' knob, which may be exploited to replace the value of any parameter the cursor is positioned over without making any assignments at all.
Nonetheless aside from that, you've got the Automap 3 software to tell you what is going on, and it's this which makes Novation's controllers so tasty. This effective programme allows you to simply touch the controller, simply click an on-screen parameter, and take a look at the control designated. You might even spare almost any QWERTY or ASCII midi keyboard shortcut to the equipment settings. Automap is available in 2 flavours, Standard and Pro, and you get the Pro version with SL Mk II, featuring one or two device support, keystroke assignment, XY pad mapping, drag and drop, and AutoView. Automap 3 PRO features smart control of all sequencers and VST/AU/RTAS/TDM plug-ins.
Getting hands on, and the actual corrections for SL Mk II are particular improvements - it rapidly becomes 2nd nature to stroke a control to find out its feature, for example.
Not surprisingly, Automap 3 provides a very flexible and doubtless complicated system, and it can be mind-boggling sometimes. However, the system really comes into maturity when you've outlined sensible mappings for your routinely, practiced synths and effects. It's good for performance function too - here's where Automap Mixer control makes the most sense, it's simply the feature for performing with levels and flicking channels fast. Oh, and we are really pumped up about finding what outrageous systems people come up with making use of the keystroke-binding functions!

Line6 introduces StageScape visual mixer, lets you touch it up to eleven (Engadget)
It might seem like we've gone mixer mad around here, but with a huge music
trade-show starting this week, it's no surprise there's a pile of new tech on
offer. The StageScape M20d visual mixer from Line 6 being one such example. Of
course, we have inputs (12 line / mic, four line-only, and two for USB/SD
streaming) and outputs (four XLR monitors, two master) all strummed along by
internal 32-bit floating-point processing. What piqued our interest, however,
was that seven inch screen you see up there. Rather than fumble over a mash of
faders, you thumb the instrument's icon to pull up its parameters. Other
features include Kaossilator style X-Y multi-parameter control, and color
coded pots -- presumably so you don't kill the guitar solo by mistake. A final
flourish is remote control via an iPad, for mid-track sound tweaks -- though
you might need one of these. Tap the PR after the break for more info.
