Playing the guitar can be lots of fun and very rewarding. If you want your sound to be heard at its best, you will also need a great amp to go with your guitar. Alternatively, if your guitar is a slightly average one, the right amp can improve your sound entirely. So here are a few things to take into account when you are choosing an amplifier.
The budget, the plan.
Naturally, knowing how far your money can stretch before looking is a good idea. Having this kind of direction at the beginning of your quest for the ideal guitar amp can save you some disappointment. After this is established decide on the kind of amp you want to take a look at. If you are an experienced guitar player then you will already have an idea of the kind of amp you will need. Save yourself some time and energy on what might be a pointless expedition and call around to stores before travelling there. If you are new to guitar playing then you might need to know a bit more about the different amps out there.

The solid state amp uses transistors instead of tubes for its power sections and preamp. These amps rarely need repairing and because there are no tubes to replace. Tube amps offer a fat tone that is warm with organic distortion. A tube amps sound is generally louder than that of a solid state amp with the same wattage. With these amps you can have the sound of a few amps rolled into one. They have digital effects on board and the design of the modelling amp is improving every year. The hybrid amp boasts such action as having a tube tone without the use of tubes. It is the combination of the best attributes of all amps in one box.

It does not include Shuguang Audio, a long-time Chinese manufacturer of vacuum tubes, who also manufactures their own tube amplifiers, nor does it have a separate entry for E.A.R. USA, which is somewhat different than its EAR-Yoshino counterpart. And the Tube Power Amplifiers directory also does not include several of the well-known classic tube audio equipment manufacturers, such as Dynaco, LEAK, Marantz, Mullard, Williamson, and the latest inductee to the group, Beard Audio, to name a few, whose sought-after vintage products continue to circulate on the used and collectible audio equipment markets.
Fatman by TL Audio, Peachtree Audio, both of which are best known for their iPod docking stations and headphone amplifiers, as well as Napa Acoustic and Mistral Audio (a David Audio Design & Manufacturing company,) are also not included in the Tube Power Amplifiers directory of the World Tube Audio Portal. Nevertheless, it’s an impressive resource for fans of tube audio equipment, as is the World Tube Directory by audioXpress.

Samsung unveils new HTIB systems plus audio docks with Galaxy S and iPhone support (Engadget)
While it's hardly pulling the curtain back on its entire CES 2012 slate of
products, Samsung's earliest preview for your AV pleasure is an updated range
of HTIB systems and sound bars, as well as two new Audio Docks that support
Apple devices as well as its own Galaxy S phones and players. The DA-E750
Audio Dock (pictured above) is the first to include Samsung's "hybrid vacuum
tube amplifier technology" which it claims raises the bar for mainstream audio
products, by delivering the clear sound output of digital combined with the
natural sound of a vacuum tube in its preamp. Both docks will play from and
charge both Samsung and Apple hardware, as well as stream music wirelessly via
AllShare or AirPlay, although the DA-E670 lacks that high end vacuum tube
tech.
For your entire home theater needs, the new HT-E6730W 7.1 Blu-ray 3D HTIB
features the same vacuum tube tech as the DA-E750, while the HT-E5500W boasts
an iPod dock and 3D sound effects.Finally the HW-E550 Surround Sound Bar also
